Happy New Year genners,
I am looking for the family members of as Leiser SZKLER who lived in
Newark, New Jersey >from the 1920’s or earlier to the late 1940’s. He may
have lived with his sister-in-law, Rebecca (Rivka) VASNIAK KOBRIN during
that period. He was a tailor. His surname was probably pronounced as
SKLAR. He sponsored Rebecca when she came >from Kobrin, Belarus in 1921.
I assume he either came >from Kobrin or somewhere in that area.
The spelling of his name was taken >from Rebecca’s passenger record. I
cannot find him on any passenger lists or census records for Leiser
SZKLER. His surname may have been changed to SKLAR. He died in the late
1940’s at approximately 100 years of age. I don’t know where he is
buried. I have Rebecca’s family fully documented and nobody in her
family can provide any additional information.
I would appreciate if anyone has any information on Leiser SZKLER,
please email me privately.
