I am researching the surname: WEXLER/VEKSLER >from the village of Kalin which is 3.5 kilometers >from Kurenets in Belarus and 50 kilometers North NW of Minsk.
I have a record of my great grandfather SHMUL MENDLE VEKSLER born 1855 in Kishinev and it states his father YOYNA/YONA VEKSLER wife PESYA was >from Kalin.
I have been unable to find out any information about Kalin except that there were only @ 500 Jewish people living in the village.
Does anyone know of this village or any information? I have looked into Kurenets, in the Yizkor book is where I found it was 3.5 miles away, but am very interested in Kalin.
