To: "firstname.lastname@example.org" <email@example.com>Dear Bessarabians,
I am still trying to digest my experience at the conference in Jerusalem. So many interesting
speakers and programmes, good new connections and spending time with family.
My week began with a walking tour of Old Jerusalem (I volunteered) which was amazing. Playing
Jewish geography produced results, as usual.
Monday night we were treated to an inspiring address by Rabbi Israel Meir Lau who encouraged us
to continue our research.
Every day I was faced with the dilemma of where to go. I attended all Bessarabia events, but my
other interests surfaced constantly. I wanted to divide myself into many parts. Canada, Ukraine,
Rabbinic, jewishgen, Ancestry.com, privacy issues with online trees, illegal immigration(I was part of
it in my early childhood), so many more.
The conference gave me an opportunity to learn, to absorb and to meet people- new acquaintancesand renewed connections. The best part was meeting relatives I had never met before and establishing
a warm relationship with them. Of course, spending quality time with my children and grandchildren
was the best. I am hoping to go to Seattle with renewed vigor.
