French SIG #France Re: Town of Mets #france

Just some corrections. Nancy has never been occupied by Germany. While after
1870, Metz became German, Nancy was still French and the capital of
Departement of Meurthe, so that it became the most important town of the
east of France.
Concerning the Jewish families, they arrived in Metz >from 1565 and Metz was
already a prominent Jewish community in the 17th centurie, but they where
authorized to live in Nancy only at the end of 17th century. In 1789, there
were 4000 Jews in and around Metz (half of them in the town of Metz), and
2500 in and around Nancy.
