Shalom,

Where do I begin? So much has happened of late. Firstly, I am pleased to
inform you that over October we completed uploading translations >from no
less than five books and they are:

Two books that were prepared by William Liebner and kindly donated to the YB
Project - "Blood Stained Feathers; The Life Story of a Shoah Survivor"
(Nowy Sacz, Poland) and the Zabrze Yizkor Book (Zabrze, Poland)
"The Memorial book: the Ritavas Community; A Tribute to the Memory of our
Town" (Rietavas, Lithuania), permission for which was gratefully received
from Romi Kaplan of the Kaplan-Kushlick Foundation in Capetown.
"Our Shtetl; Vysotsk memorial book" (Vysotsk, Ukraine) which was translated
by Kevin Allen and we do thank he and Sara Allen for this important
contribution to our site.
"Our town, Neishtot" (Zemaiciu Naumiestis, Lithuania) which was translated
and gratefully donated to the YB book by Dr. Benjamin Lesin.

The YB Project now has 123 books fully online and in the coming months, I
foresee further books achieving the completely online status. Some projects,
however, are just at their outset and this past month, a new Translations
Fund was setup for the Zbarazh, Ukraine Yizkor with a view to funding the
translation of this book. We now have over 80 of the Yizkor Book Translation
Funds that have been setup to enable people to financially support the
professional translation of the community books. Please see link to this
list at the end of this report to the list of funds.

Another milestone this past month was the publishing of two more books (now
52 all in all) by the Yizkor Books in Print Project:

"Radzyn Memorial Book" (Radzyn Podlaski, Poland)
"The Unlikely Hero of Sobrance" (Sobrance, Slovakia)

Joel Alpert and team continue to work tirelessly to make these books
available for the benefit of many. Details of the books now available can be
found via the link appearing at the end of this report.

Finally, we added in a number of entries >from the Yad Vashem "Pinkasim"
series (Encyclopedias of Jewish Communities) including quite a few
translations about Latvia communities which were provided by the Latvia SIG
and we do appreciate these very welcome additions to our project. The
"Pinkas" series provides unique information on so many communities that
don't have their own Yizkor book. Although we do have a large number of
translations of community entries >from these volumes available in the YB
site, we are always on the lookout to continue this endeavor.

If you would like to know more about the "Pinkasim" series, the Yizkor Book
Project in general, or would like to become involved in our project, I would
definitely like to hear >from you.
