Dear all.
In 1896 the exhibition of the agriculture in Eretz Israel’s settlements
took place in Berlin. The focus of the exhibition was the wine
production. The wine was apparently transported in barrels on boats from
Jaffa to ships sailing to the port of Breila, and >from there, by train, to
the continent.

Berlin Fair had lasted for nine months (6 months in Berlin and 3 months
in Köln).

The participators wore fezes and there is a photograph of my G'grandfather
during the event, wearing a fez. There was great demand for wine from
Eretz Israel, mainly due to the Hebrew labels on the bottles.
