This coming October 28, 2002 will be the 64th anniversary of the
deportation of Polish Jews residing in Germany to Poland.
On October 28, 1938 some 17,000 Jews with Polish citizenship were suddenly
expelled >from Germany to Poland.
On October 29, the Polish authorities closed the border, the German
authorities had to turn around two trains full with men, women and children
and returning them to their home cities.
Most people pushed over the border perished in the Holocaust.
