I precise that is not so easy to obtain French Civil Records of less than
100 years !
The website mentioned by Joachim Modern exists, but the French Law about the
Civil Records of less than 100 years forbids the communication of full
copies of birth and marriage civil records (with mention of the names of the
parents), except to the person concerned by the record, his/her direct
ascendants or descendants. The other persons can only obtain an extract
without mention of the names of the parents. This extract can indeed be
obtained, for Paris, on the website mentioned by J. Modern.
The death civil records can be obtained without any restriction, even if
they date of less than 100 years.
It can occur that some Town Halls do not respect the French law... mainly
because the employees do not understand the law, or do not know it.
