The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has recently obtained filmed
copies of Jewish community records for a number of cities in Northwest
Germany, specifically Muenster, Oldenburg, Detmold-Lippe, Bentheim and
Luebeck. This collection (RG 14.051M) consists of 17 reels of film (ca.
17,000 pages) and includes virtually all aspects of community life from
about 1920 through 1938. For the patient researcher interested in these
communities, this is a treasure trove of information.
