Readers may be interested in a new Gedenkbuch, Gedenkbuch der juedischen
Buerger Bambergs, issued in 2008 by the Verein zur Foerderung der juedischen
Geschichte und Kultur Bambergs.
This book differs >from the format of other city Gedenkbuecher in that it
includes far more text, and often photos, about each individual or family.
It is also unusual and extremely useful in that it includes information on
the fate of other family members who did not perish in the Holocaust, e.g.
emigrated to the United States or England.
Finally, it includes a small section with the text of correspondence between
those who remained in Germany, and later perished, and their family members
who had succeeded in emigrating.
