Two years ago a friend of our family visited the Jewish cemetery in Langenselbold, a suburb of Frankfurt am Main. She found it in a state of disrepair which left her very upset. Has anyone been to the cemetery more recently?
It is our understanding that the German government provides towns with money to maintain the Jewish cemeteries. Since the Langenselbold cemetery is in disrepair, the money is not being used for the correct purpose. Under those circumstances, our friend wants to contact the proper German authorities to report the failure to use the funds for the purpose they were allocated. Does anyone know which authority to contact?
I am sure that knowing the German government authorities who provide money for the upkeep of Jewish cemeteries is of critical importance to many of the members of our group.
