Just issued, Jewish Responses to Persecution, Vol.I, 1933-1938, by Juergen
Matthaeus and Mark Roseman, is the first of what will be a series of books.
This volume focuses on the immediate German Jewish response to Hitler's
assumption of power in 1933 through to the aftermath of Kristallnacht.
With its chronology and extensive quotation of letters and other documents
from this period, this book is well worth reading for anyone with a Jewish
family which resided in Germany in this period of time.
