Dear All,

I had a wonderful week at the conference. My thanks go to Jeanette
Rosenberg and the entire GerSig committee for the great job they did.
Jeanette suggested that I share the websites that I have found
helpful in researching my St. Louis ancestors. So here goes! St. Louis Genealogy Society. At top of the
home page is a search engine for surnames. Some of the information
is for members only. But a lot is available to anyone who signs onto
the page. Membership costs $35
Missouri State Archives: Death Certificates. Images are available
for years 1910 to 1960. New Mount
Sinai Cemetery (St. Louis) Death Register 1850 =96 Present. Most
entries include date of death, age at death, place of birth and
location of grave. (Note: In the URL there is a dash below the line
between =93death=94 and =93register=94). The Missouri History Society
Library and Research Center has indexed a large proportion of their
collection. On this website You can search by person=92s name, by
business or corporate name, by address or by source. At a price you
can order photocopies mailed to you (cost $4, $5 or $7 depending on
whether you live in St. Louis or are a member.) Visitors to the
library will be given photocopies at the price of $0.25 each. This
website has links to other excellent indexed websites of genealogical
interest to those with ancestors who lived in Missouri. This is a page >from the
website of the St. Louis Public Library. They have indexed obituaries,
death notices, and burial permits between 1880 and 2006 >from the St.
Louis Post Dispatch. Index is by year of death, then by first letter
of the surname. The site also includes casualty lists >from World War
I and World War II. The library has another site -- --
that has an obituary search by name for those who don=92t know the year
of death If you find the notice you are looking for, you can order a
photocopy by phoning 314-241-2288.
