According to Rolf Hoffmann, my great great uncle David MAY (or Koppel)
married Teresa in 1870. They came to Marshall, Texas. My great-grandmother,
Elka May ROSENBAUM, was one of David's 2 sisters. David and Teresa had
2 infant daughters (Hulda b.1872 and Galah b.1873). The parents died
in the yellow fever epidemic of 1873. Elka raised Hulda and Clara
raised Galah. JOWBR lists the MAY burials along with a 10 year old
Findagrave says he is Abraham HEPPNER MAY and is buried at their grave
site. Of course anyone who might have known about this is long dead!
I have tried contacting local historical societies and Ancestry.
My thought is that he might have been adopted. Thanks in advance!!
