Why should a Lodz (or Krakow or Radomsko or Wielun or Kalisz or Dzialoszyn
or Warsaw) researcher look to Czestochowa in search of Holocaust victims or
survivors? I have discovered 984 very interesting (and, to me, surprising)
reasons.

Our "Czestochowa-Radomsko Area Research Group," conducting research at the
Czestochowa Archives, has come across a list entitled Jews Sent to the
Czestochowa Ghetto >from other Towns (>from 22 January 1940 to 7 January
1941).

I am surprised to find 984 persons >from these towns who were taken to
Czestochowa:

Lodz (630 persons)
Krakow (98 persons)
Radomsko (82 persons)
Wielun (66 persons)
Kalisz (52 persons)
Dzialoszyn (33 persons)
Warszawa (23 persons)

At this time we have brief information on the listed persons:
