Gesher Galicia SIG #Galicia BOF Groups-Gesher Galicia-Nov. 14th NYC #galicia

Pamela Weisberger <pweisberger@...>

Gesher Galicia is holding a regional meeting in New York City on:

at the Center for Jewish History, 15 West 16th St., New York City 10011

At the conclusion of the meeting, for those who are interested, we will be
breaking into optional Birds-of-a-Feather groups for lunch at neighborhood

For those of you not familiar with the BOF concept, the idea is to have
people researching a specific town or region to gather together for
networking, providing opportunities to compare research breakthroughs,
travel experiences, surnames and family histories, etc.

Gesher Galicia steering committee member, Eden Joachim, is organizing these
BOF groups in advance to facilitate planning. If you are interested in
participating in this post-meeting option, please send your name and town(s)
or regions(s) of interest to her at:

Replying "yes" to her is not an absolute commitment to attend, but will
assist with our planning. For everyone's convenience, we will be lunching
within walking distance of the Center, but there will not be any Kosher meal
options unless a few smaller groups lunch at the cafe located at the CJH. (A
sign-up list of lunch groups will also be available at the meeting.)

*Please note, however:

IF you are researching towns in the Suchostaw Region Reseach Group (SRRG)
and/or the Kolbuszowa Region Research Group (KRRG), Susana Bloch is
organizing a mutual lunch for those two larger groups. If you have not
already RSVPed, please do so directly to her at:

If you are new to Galician research, and are not sure if your town falls in
one of her areas, visit the shtetl sites for more information:

or read at the end of this message for towns included in those geographical

Specific program information for the Gesher Galicia meeting will be posted
on list shortly.

We look forward to seeing you.
