Dear Gesher Galicia Subscribers,
At the Arutz Sheva web site I read the following intriguing headline: "Online Jewish Film Archive Offers Glimpse Into the Past", which described the Steven Spielberg Jewish Film Archive. As a family genealogist, I was drawn to the paragraph describing the films of five then-Polish cities taken in August, 1939--Cracow, Warsaw, Bialystock, Lvov and Vilna. Since Lvow was closest to my four grandparents' shtetlach, I viewed that ten minute film, in English. Although the quality was poor, I could taste the flavor of the world in which my grandparents were raised, a world that no longer exists. http://www.arutzsheva.com/news.php3?id=102811 There are sure to be other subjects of interest to genealogists at this site. Best wishes, Carole Glick Feinberg Atlanta, GA, USA Drohobycz: BERNSTEIN, LERNER, SCHNEIDSCHER, KREUTZENAUER, KOCH, WEBER, HAMMERMAN, GARTENBERG, ROSBERG, HACKER; Boryslaw: HILLEBRAND, SCHECK; Kujdance, Romanowe Siolo: SOMERFLEK, KATZ, MALKISCHER; Woloczysk: GLEKEL, KUPPERWASSER; Stanislawow Area: STERNBERG, GLUCK, DAUER, BERNER, TIEGER, ZUCKERKANDEL, JUNGERMAN; Jassy: HILLEBRAND
