Pamela Weisberger will provide an update on GG's cadastral map and
Landowner records research project in Lviv and then illustrate how
to research one's Galician ancestors who lived in or passed through
Wien, Austria. The focus will be on the following repositories:

-The IKG (Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wien) where the Jewish
births, marriages and deaths >from the early 1800s to 1938 are held.

-The city archives -- Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchiv -- where there
are city directories, military records, Meldezettel (household
registration records), as well as Fremdenkartei (records of all
immigrants to Vienna between 1870-1880) and other research

-Austrian National Library, which contains historical newspapers,
books on Galician Gymnasiums, and householder listings.

Mark Halpern will provide an update on Jewish Records
Indexing-Poland's activities.

Bernard Reiner will illustrate his "homecoming" trip to the
Bohorodochany burial site where his ancestors were laid to rest
more than four centuries ago and tell us the emotional experience
of reading the Megillah in the Great Stanislawow synagogue,
attending shul in Kolomea on Purim morning, and eating >from the
"conflicted soil" of his ancestors.

This meeting is free of charge and open to the public, but if you'd

You are also invited to the JGSNY meeting that follows at 2:00PM.
It will deal with the research experience at the International
Tracing Service Archives in Bad Arolsen, Germany, and will
