Belgium 1914 telephone directory now searchable #france

Logan Kleinwaks

A 1914 telephone directory for Belgium is now full-text searchable at
genealogyindexer.org. To restrict a search to this directory and the
few other Belgium-specific sources on the site (1948/1949 and 1955
naturalizations), change the "Any Place" option below the search box
to "Belgium." Soundex, wildcard, and other advanced searches are
possible.

Search results link to scans on the website of GenWiki, a project of
the Verein fuer Computergenealogie. If you prefer to browse the
scans, rather than search, you can do so at
http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/w/index.php?title=Datei:Belgien-AB-1914.djvu&page=1.
To view the scans, which are in the .DjVu image file format, you will
need to (once) install a .DjVu plugin for your web browser. I use the
free plugin at https://www.cuminas.jp/en/downloads/download/?pid=1,
and recommend using Firefox or another non-Chrome browser due to
plugin-browser incompatibilities.

If you know of other scanned, typewritten Belgian sources such as
directories that should be made full-text searchable, please contact
me privately.
