I will be visiting Krakow for the first time between 5 - 9 May
and would like to identify the places in Podgorze where my
grandfather's family lived. A second cousin paid a researcher
some 20 years ago to search the records and s/he found
addresses for 1857, 1870 and 1880. There seem to be
different systems - 1/13, 1/14, 1/16, 1/17, but also 166 and
168. Does 1/13 etc refer to Krakow proper? I believe the old
numbering system comprised district followed by house number.
Could 166 and 168 refer to Podgorze itself? I would be grateful
for any information which would enable me to identify the site
of these addresses.
Your best bet is to try and find a city or business directory for
Krakow (and environs) for the years of interest.

For example: there is a directory of Lwow (Lemberg) >from
1872 (copy held at the NYC Public Library) which details the
re-naming of streets (new names were adopted for many that
year) along with the corresponding (old) house number before
street numbering took over. Invaluable in figuring out where a
house stood. I don't know if such a directory exists, but if you
try the national library or the archives in Krakow you might
locate one.
