Gesher Galicia SIG #Galicia 2011 Gesher Galicia Renewal Reminder! February "Galitzianer" sneak preview! #galicia

Pamela Weisberger

Dear Galitzianers....young and old, near and far...

It's time to ring in the new year by renewing your Gesher Galicia
membership for 2011 if you haven't done so already.

Membership renewal letters were sent out many weeks ago, so if
you forgot to renew or can't find the letter, you can renew online
and/or find instructions on mail renewal by clicking this link:

For Galitzianers who are new to this discussion group, perhaps
you don't realize that Gesher Galicia is dues-paying organization.
While subscribing to this list-serve is free, if you choose to join
us your dues entitle you to receive our scholarly quarterly
journal, "The Galitzianer" - available via electronic or paper
subscription. Your dues also support our research projects,
regional meetings and IAJGS conference programming. This year
they will also support the re-design of our website, with an
upcoming "members only" section, which will entitle you to
access images of maps and land records and new indexes.

In 2011 we will also be launching our online "Gesher Galicia
Family Finder" so you can search for other members researching
towns and surnames shared with you, with the ability to update
your information on a constant basis. There will also be a variety
of special "member only" features available in the coming year,
so don't delay to renew, re-join (if you've let your membership
lapse) or re-energize your Galician research.

Here is a preview of articles in the February 2011 issue of "The
Galitzianer" which is one of our primary membership benefits
and cannot be purchased separately:

"Debica Industrial Permits, Part 2,"
Stanley Diamond and Eden Joachim, JRI-Poland

"Galician Census Status Report," Alan Weiser

"My Life Changed Forever," Felicia Graber
