Gesher Galicia SIG #Galicia German ViewMate Translation Request #galicia
Edward Rueda <edwardarueda@...>
I've posted a document in German for which I need a translation. It is
on ViewMate at the following address:
These are snippets >from different pages of the Lemberg Evidence
Books, the tax documents that our group discussed lately. The info
is >from two columns, "Namen" (Names) and "Gewerbe" (Trade). I can
read the names, as they're written in Latin script, but the "trades" are
written in Kurrentschrift, the old German style of handwriting. The
last names in these entries are BERGTRAUM, FINGERHUT,
SCHREIBER, SILBER, and TAFEL.
I would love to know the German words and their translation in these
"Gewerbe" columns, so that I can start to read these documents
A link right above the image will help you see a larger version. The
writing is pretty small.
Please respond via the form provided in the ViewMate application.
Thank you all for your help!
