Pope Francis has sent a letter to Yahad-In Unum, the organization
created by Father Patrick Debois. This letter praises Father Debois for
all his work on Holocaust remembrance projects. Father Debois and
his staff have traveled to many of the killing fields in Eastern Europe
during the Holocaust to commemorate the tragedies at these
locations and to obtain testimony >from witnesses to these massacres.
He was keynote speaker at our IAJGS conference in 2009. Father
Debois and Yahad-In Unum staff have also gone to many other of
today's places of violence in the world. The Pope's praise is
important recognition of the value of his work.
