Gesher Galicia SIG #Galicia Yizkor Book - Jezierzany & Surroundings - Update #galicia

Judy Brodkey

Shalom -

More stories >from Jezierzany and the surrounding towns are waiting for
you.

Thanks to your collective generosity, new sections of the Memorial
(Yizkor) Book for Jezierzany & Surroundings have been translated >from
Yiddish and Hebrew into English. Visit
https://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/Ozeryany/Ozeryany.html
to read the translated sections.

In these pages, you'll meet some of the wonderful people of Jezierzany and
learn about some of the most important issues they faced during their
lifetimes. You'll also read about small details of everyday living, the
town's synagogues, a major conflict within their Jewish community,
Jezierzany's powerful response to a military draft, bravery in the midst
of tragedy during the Holocaust and much more.

We've almost reached our goal of ensuring that the stories from
Jezierzany and surrounding towns will live on. We have made great
progress in translating the book into English. We only need to raise an
estimated $1000 - $1500 to translate the remainder of the book. Once
the book is completely translated, we plans to publish a print version
thanks to the JewishGen Yizkor Books in Print Project.

In Every Generation, We Tell the Story
Passover is still a few months away but each year we are instructed to
tell the story of our ancestors' journey out of Egypt, lest we forget
where we came >from and the lessons learned along the way. Our
ancestors >from Jezierzany and surrounding areas intentionally left their
precious stories for us and our descendants; they deserve to be shared.

Please share this message with friends and family members interested
in Jezierzany and nearby towns. If you have any questions, please let
me know. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Judy Brodkey

PS We inherit >from our ancestors many gifts so often taken for granted.
Each of us contains within us this inheritance of soul. We are links
between the ages, containing past and present expectations, sacred
memories and future promise. -- Edward Sellner
