To Debbie and all others,

I imagine that you and many others are waiting for more specifics about the

Dear all,

I am one of those lucky ones who had the marvelous opportunity
to accompany
Louis Schonfeld and the Family Tree people on the trip to
Hungary/Ukraine. I
knew that Louis and a few of the people had continued on to the
second tour
and therefore I waited until they returned so they too could
see my comments.

It was a perfectly wonderful experience!!!!! Kudos to Louis and all the
Family Tree staff!!!! They made it a really memorable
experience!!!! Louis
was absolutely wonderful in always being available to translate
names and
dates on gravestones. Family Tree's Anita was a delightful
person,always
happy to translate Hungarian to English and vice versa. Joseph
was an expert
in Jewish Genealogy and very helpful along the way. In the
Ukraine, Ava was
the translator and Nick helped in crossing the border.

We started out in Budapest which is a very beautiful city. We
then proceeded
through the Tokaj wine country to the Ukraine.

I was very lucky in finding the gravestones of family members
in Berehi -- a
village near Berehovo. It was very emotional as I looked at
the gravestones
of my great-grandfather and my grandmother's 2 sisters and 1
brother. Then in
the cemetery in Berehovo, I discovered the son of that brother.
WOW!!! I
never expected to find anything and was therefore ecstatic!!

We went to the Archives in Berehovo but were told that
everything they have is
in boxes and no money is available to catalog it.

Thank you, Louis and the Family Tree staff --- you all made it
an experience
of a lifetime.

I would be very interested in what Beregovo looks like today, what the
condition of the cemetery was, were the tombstones in hebrew, hungarian,
both? What was travel in the Ukraine like? Details - give us some
details!!!
