I don't follow your maths.
1. You say Rosie Klein was born in Bereg Munkacs March 10, 1862 - That
makes her 33 in 1895 when she married.

What is the source of the info? Birth records? Marriage record?

2. The 1880 Census lists her as age 28 - which doesn't match with an
1862 birth record. However she can't be in the 1880 census with that
age if she came to the States in either 1878 or 1887.

3. I don't understand the 1895 marriage date if she is listed with
children in the 1880 Census, especially without a single child match?

4. The so called age "8" on the declaration of intention sounds more
length of time in the U.S.A. (1895-1887=8.)

5. Yes, it sounds that it isn't the same family. In French we say there
is more than one donkey named "Martin".

However, they should be on the 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 Census(es).

Dear HSig members:
L'shona Tova to one and all.
I am starting the New Year doubting my sanity. Information I have
about my
f/g/m ROSIE KLEIN is that she was born to Moritz and Fany (Heisler)
Klein
in Bereg Munkacs Hungary on 3/10/1862. She came to US on 6/11/1887.
She
married Marcus Merling on 11/28/1895 and had 3 children. Rachel
(1896)
Emanuel (who died as a baby) and my Dad Morris Merling (1906).
I found them in the 1880 census. They are listed as Moritz Klein,
38, wife
Fany Klein, 28, Mary dtr,15, Ignatz, son, 13, Amelia, dtr, 8,
Leopold, son,
6, Rosie, dtr, 2.
That makes her born in 1878 and about 8 yrs old when she married. I
don't
know any of her siblings names, and this could be the wrong family,
but what
are the chances
of Moritz Merling, marrying a Fany and having a child Rosie....and it
not
being the family you are researching?
I canot find the ship that is listed on her " intent" papers. SS
Varrows.
I even looked in 1878 and looked for Nov 6 because I thought an
American
might get the "Yiddish" backward....
but absolutely nothing found.
Any advice. Any help, any suggestions would be very greatly
appreciated.
The group has helped me on this before. They translated the "Berwich
Munich" to Bereg Munkacs. Such a tale!
