Ungvar in the county of Ung. I looked in the Family History library catalog,

or am I just looking in the wrong place? If the latter, could someone point
me in the right direction.>>

Yes, these records exist for Ungvar--today Uzhgorod, Ukraine--but these have
not been microfilmed by the Mormons.

They are held in the Transcarpathian archives or the ZAGS (civil records
office) in Uzhgorod, both places that most researchers have not have much
luck with, whether visiting in person or hiring others to research for them.
We are all hopeful that this situation will change soon, but up until now
getting information without specific names, dates and events, is difficult.

Miriam Weiner's website: http://www.rtrfoundation.org has listings for
these records. Here is the direct link:

http://www.rtrfoundation.org/srchresults2.asp?rbSearchBy=DMSearch&txtTown=ungvar&Town_Submit.x=50&Town_Submit.y=9&Town_Submit=Search&Town2=UNGVAR&Town3=UZHGOROD

from her list you can see what rich resources there are....lying in wait
there. If anyone on the list has had success with accessing any of these
records, please share your experience with the group so we all can benefit.

Thanks!
