Where should I start to seek for records of my LOWY (LOEWY) ancestors, if
they lived in the town of Lugos, now Lugoj, in the Banat area, around mid
1800's? If such records exist, are they kept in Hungary or in Romania?

Also, can Jewish cemetaries in Lugoj still hold headstones >from that time
(1850-1950)?

I would greatly appreciate any advice.
