Hungary SIG #Hungary Jewish records in Catholic parishes #hungary

re: "FHL church records >from 2 different cities in Hungary
in hopes of finding ancestors' vital records prior to the earliest existing
Jewish ones. Unfortunately, no Jewish records were contained therein.... I'd
also like to know if anyone else has had any luck finding Jewish records
within the church records"

YES. It is inconsistent but I noticed in some Parish death records that the
bottom line of every page in one section had the Jud listed. Off the top of my
head I can't remember which films they specifically were [I've seen so
many]. But if it's important write me off list for details.

Also, some of the Parish films have an item added at the end which contains
the Jewish community. When using the online FHC catalog check the film details
to see what is included in each film, the items will be listed.
