Hungary SIG #Hungary Re: Friedman/Grosz family of Vranov nad Toplou #hungary

This is a flyer although the towns are quite close. My gggm was Rachel
FRIEDMAN, born c1814 in Circ, Slovakia (northwest of Hanusovce and very
close to the Polish border). She was married to my gggf, Moses Hirsch
HUEBSCHMAN, born 1807 in Hanusovce nad Toplou. I have an extensive tree
from the Huebschman line but I've found it very difficult to get back
into the 1700s, except through patronymics, i.e., the father of Moses
was Hirsch. I have 1869 census records for all of the Jews of Circ and
there are a few other FRIEDMANS, all born there. As you must know,
however, it is particularly difficult to trace the female lines.

If your report turns up any connections, please let me know. There were
no GROSZs in Circ in 1869.

Hi all,

I'd like to know if there's anyone out there researching FRIEDMAN or
GROSZ family lines in the Varanno/Vranov, Galszecs/Secovce,
Hanisfalu/Hanusovce region of what's now eastern Slovakia.

I'll be shortly having a very large & detailed professional genealogical
report sent to me about these extended families. I'm trying to trace
the lines further back in time, back into the 1700s. They may have
entered Hungary >from Galicia, but I'm not sure.

I'd be happy to provide or exchange info with others research these or
other family lines.
