Lawrence Cohen has sent me about 100 images of headstones >from the =
Jewish cemetery in Vysne Revistia, Slovakia, formerly Felso Reviscse, =
Ung, Hungary. This small place is 4 miles west of Sobrance and about =
8.5 miles east of Michalovce near Zavadka, Gajdos, and Bunkovce =
(Bunkocz). =20

Although they are in B&W, most of the images are clear enough to make =
the inscriptions legible to someone able to transcribe Hebrew. =20

The Jewish community of Felso Reviscse numbered about 120 in 1877. Some =
of the family names associated with Felso Reviscse and Vysne Revistia =
include Berkovics, Jakubovits, Herskovics, Klein, Lefkovics, Lebovits, =
Muellar and Moskovics. Herskovics Aron and Jozsepovits Samuel are =
listed as landowners in the 1895 directory of Hungarian landowners and =
leaseholders.
