According to a listing on JewishGen of "Towns Represented in 1869
Saros Census Films of Jewish Records" <http://www.jewishgen.org/hungary/Data/Saros/1869%20SAROS%20JEWS%20in%20Towns.htm> a town called Palocsa was in the same district (Felso Tarcza) as Berzevicze. Perhaps this was "Palotza." (It wouldn't be the first time that country of origin was wrong on an emigration or arrival record!) The current name of Palocsa is Plavec and Berzevicze is Brezovica nad Torysou. Both towns are in Slovakia -- about 8 miles >from each other "as the crow flies" and about 17 miles by car. On the ships' registries their home is listed as "Palotza, Russland" and "Polocza, Russland", respectively. Can anyone help me identify the current name and location of this town....? Slovakia makes sense because in the all-citizen Hungary census of 1869, they are found in Berzevicze.>> Moderator: Thanks, Renee! That's what we've concluded.
