The Hungarian J is like our Y (Majer=Mayer), which makes me believe that
your GGGF's Hebrew name was most probably Mayer.

Hello All --
I'm digging a little deeper into my Hungarian ancestors and am trying
to figure out the Hebrew name of my maternal GGGF Mór/Moricz
Feigenbaum, born in Borsi in the late 1840's.
Are there certain Hebrew names more frequently associated with that
name? Any suggestions/theories welcome.
(I realize there's not necessarily a relation between the Hebrew and
vernacular first name).
