Hi there

I am looking for the forebear of Sir Julius Vogel who came to London in
1810-1820. I think he is Albert/Abraham Julius/Joel [VOGEL], born
about 1760, whose parents may have been Joel Levy [VOGEL] and
Sara [SCHRAGE]. So far, I have found only two children of Joel Levy
and Sara: Rachel [VOGEL] and Levy Joel VOGEL.

Joel Levy [VOGEL] and Sara [SCHRAGE] lived in Amsterdam,
Netherlands, but Sara may have come >from The Hague [Den Haag].
Who were their other children? I have not found Joel Levy [VOGEL] and
Sara [SCHRAGE] in the book "Trouwen in Mokum 1598-1811" although
there is a record 727.9 that could possibly be them.

I have looked at the following sources: the Central Bureau of Genealogy
in The Hague; >from The Hague City Archives; >from Amsterdam City
Archives; >from JewishGen sources; >from the LDS Church [esp Hambro
Synagogue records, film #94667]; >from what Google has been able to
find for me; >from Daniel Conway, London; >from NZ Alexander Turnbull
Library. At The Hague City Archives, one of its staff is helping me

Sir Julius VOGEL had one sister Frances [and two brothers who died
young]. Frances was born on 16 Dec 1833 in London and looked after
her mother Mary VOGEL nee CLAYTON and never married. In the
Willesden Jewish Cemetery, London, is the grave of Sir Julius, and at
his feet, the grave of Frances, who died about 1894. >from Daniel
Conway, I got a photo which shows the top part of the stone but not her
details. Can somebody locate that for me, please?

The mother of Sir Julius VOGEL was Phoebe ISAAC, whose mother
was Sophia LEON, whose mother was Golda LEVI.

Any comments will be gratefully acknowledged.
