In January 2009 I sent an e-mail request to 'post@...' for
copies of pages >from the Lehmann's Addressbuch for those with the surname of
HELFER in 1930 and 1942, as well any other information on HELFER residents
in Vienna, Austria >from 1900-1942, who might possibly be related to my
paternal grandmother Sime Bruche WILDER (nee HELFER)born in Brody, Poland.

About 2 or 3 weeks later I received an answer >from Katharina Smola >from that
office asking for my mailing address. To date nothing has been received
from them. I followed up twice, and on my second try (most recently in
January 2010) was told that they receive about 1,000+ requests for
information a month and that I would be answered in turn. Also, that they
strive to provide requested information within a 2 month period - or at
least a follow up reply. It is hard for me to believe that it would take
them over a year to provide me with this information, once they asked for my
mailing address.

Has anyone else had this type of experience with this Department in Vienna
(MA8 Post)? If so, how was it resolved? I have written to this Department
in years past, and never have I waited this long for any copies of documents
or information.
