I'm looking for Josef (Seppel) BERNERT (note the spelling), >from Nurnberg in
Germany, who settled in Leicester in 1934, and opened a factory (or bought
into one) for celluloid and Bakelite products. His factory was later acquired
by the Halex Corporation.
He probably had very little connection with the Jewish community. He was
born in Nurnberg in 1884 and died in London in the 1950s. His wife was
Elisabeth KRAMMER b Nurnberg 1901.
They had one daughter who served (as an officer?) in the ATS.
The family moved to London, possibly before 1939. There last address was a
block or two >from the Golders Green Crematorium.
I'd appreciate any help.
