Subject: Seeking residents located by address in London about 1900 From: "DENKERS" <spdenker@rcn.com> Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2006 11:03:06 -0400 X-Message-Number: 1
Are there any records such as London city directories where I can search residents by street address for the years 1895-1905? I'm especially interested in who lived at 45 Morgan St. in 1899. My grandfather, upon arrival at the Poor Jew's Temporary Shelter in London, said he was going to the above address.
Yes, Kelly's Directory which were annually published and are organised by London district.
I recently went to a local history library and looked up my own family.
The entries are ordered by the order of the houses in the street.
Unless you can get someone to go there you would need to contact the Tower Hamlets History Library - other libraries such as the British Library would have it.
