Hi,

My grtgrtgrandfather, Harris Woolf migrated to London >from Poland
("Russia,
Poland") according to the censuses in about the late 1860's. According to
the
censuses, he became a naturalized British subject. Does anyone know how I
might find (or try to find) any records of his naturalization?
The UK National Archive in Kew, SW London. I have seen my own
greatgrandfather's application there >from 1871.

See "Naturalisation and Citizenship: Grants of British Nationality" Section
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=242

See Section 6 "Aliens and Naturalisation" of "Anglo-Jewish History"
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=249&j=1

I might be wrong but I believe that the only way of viewing the application
form is going to the National Archive in Kew. When I went there some years
ago, it took about 30 minutes to order the form having found the details of
the application listed in the register.
