Genners:

Does anyone have access to outgoing passenger lists >from UK? I am trying
to track Esther AARONSON (my great grandmother) b. 1863 in Chelsea and he=
r
sister, Isabella AARONSON b. 1867 in Chelsea. They are the daughters of H=
yman
AARONSON and Hannah KESNER AARONSON.

I believe they were both sent away to boarding school after the death of =
their
mother, Hannah, in July 1880. I have been told they went to France but Es=
ther
ended up in Hamburg and was married there in 1888. I lose track of them a=
fter 1871.
Esther may have had a teaching position in Hamburg prior to her marriage =
in 1888.
She followed her husband, Carl ROTHSCHILD, to NY in 1890. Isabella arrive=
d in NY
with husband, Hugo NACHMAN, in 1899 >from Italy.

Any help you might provide in tracking these sisters between 1871 and the=
ir
arrival in NY would be greatly appreciated.

Manchester Central Library has now closed completely for three years, for=
a
renovation programme. =A0 =A0Much of the archive material has now been
transferred to other repositories in Manchester, and the 30+ page on-line
catalogue has been updated. =A0 Click on the following link for the catal=
ogue
which can be read on-line or printed off. =A0 =A0This gives a detailed li=
st of
the groups of archives held and a reference number which should be quoted
when ordering. =A0 It also gives contact phone and e-mail addresses so th=
at
you can check which archives are held where.

nity_archives_guide

Because there is only limited space available, any resource material that=
is
required for research should be booked at least ten days in advance to gi=
ve
the curators time to get the books/files out of storage, and to ensure th=
at
you have a table at which to work.
