JCR-UK SIG #UnitedKingdom Visit to London's Novo cemetery #unitedkingdom

For those in London, please come and join Rabbi Shalom Morris, newly
appointed rabbi of Bevis Marks, to help clean up the Novo Spanish &
Potuguese cemetery on Sunday 30 August at 12:00. The Novo is the oldest
surviving Jewish cemetery in the UK. We need to clean moss off some stones
and pull up some weeds, so please don't come in your best clothes!
Raymond Montanjees of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain
(JGSGB), who visits every year, is bringing all the equipment needed.
The Novo is located inside and at the back of Queen Mary College,
Mile End Road, E1 4NS. You can simply walk through the campus. No need
to report in to anyone. The Beth Haim is open to the public.
Closest Tubes are Mile End and Stepney Green. Pleas=
e meet us there at 12:00 on Sunday 30 August. Please check if there is
bad weather, as the visit may be re-scheduled.
