JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Ketubot for posterity #general

I have a beautiful, custom-made ketubah, prepared on acid-free paper and
framed and mounted to last several lifetimes. There's but one problem: the
signatures of the two witnesses were written with a ballpoint pen. The ink has
long since faded, and the only way to retrieve those signatures would be to
remove the ketubah >from the frame and do a pencil "rubbing". So, to those of
you out there who are about to get married, or have children or other
relatives or friends on the verge of nuptials, please, please remind them --
beg them, implore them -- to make sure the witnesses to the ketubah sign with
a fountain pen!
