OCTOBER - OPEN MEMBERSHIP MEETING:
The guest speaker for our October meeting will be Sue Olson, President of
Public Relations at the LDS Family History Centre in Calgary. Her talk will
cover "All You Ever Wanted to Know about Jewish Research at the LDS, but
Were Afraid to Ask"! At this important meeting, you will learn about the
extensive international family records which have been collected &
microfilmed by the LDS, (including those areas which may not be on file).
Sue will demonstrate the step-by-step procedures necessary for accessing
records of value to your personal genealogy, & will explain some of the
inherent problems you might encounter, as well as suggesting possible
solutions. There will be a question & answer period afterwards.
To date, the LDS Family History Centres, (with their vast banks of data
housed in Salt Lake City), possess the most comprehensive genealogical
resources available to researchers of all ethnic backgrounds. This is a
wonderful opportunity for you to learn how to use these resources
efficiently. Please make it a point to attend this extremely informative &
interesting evening & add to your research skills.
Everyone is invited to bring friends who are interested. Basic Genealogy
Starter Kits will be distributed to newly paid members.
