JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen New Beginners Course in London starts 21st October #general

This is to invite you, your relatives and friends to join a Genealogy
Beginners Course specifically designed by the JGSGB for the Spiro
Institute at the Old House, Kidderpore Gardens, Hampstead, London, NW3
starting 21st October 1998 for 8 weeks on Wednesday mornings 10.30am to
12.30pm . Cost: 48 pounds (reduced to 40 pounds for JGSGB members)

Are you interested in unlocking your family's history? Is your goal to
brush up on dusty genealogy skills?

This type of course stimulates discussion and unites grandparents,
parents, children, cousins, aunts & uncles .... so bring one of your
relatives to accompany you, working together to hasten the recall process
with all the enthusiasm that it engenders ... it will be a worthwhile
investment!

The course will introduce you to the resources essential for researching
your family history. Experienced speakers >from the JGSGB reveal where you
can uncover an enormous selection of records; explain how data can be
compiled with (or without) a computer; how the internet can be useful; and
advise on many other aspects of research - such as how best to conduct
interviews and how to gain access to records in Eastern Europe. With the
possibility of a further series in the Spring, including conducted visits
to major resource centres, here is an opportunity to learn to make
history - and organise a family reunion!
