The YIDDISH word for midwife is AKUSHERKE (>from French accoucher, to give
birth). The YIDDISH and HEBREW word for butcher, the slaughterer, is the
same: SHOCHET. The HEBREW word for midwife is MEYALEDET. The guy who sells
the meat is the KATSAV in Hebrew.

Where does Avarteki, for midwife, come from? And Fleishhacker?!
