I am seeking information on my Great Grandparents who were married in Suwalki Synagogue on 1 May 1866. Their surname in the UK was PHILLIPS but I am not sure if they were called that in Russian Poland. Their forenames were Bernet and Rachel (nee Markiss or Marcus). I have no further information as to their town of origin.
Unfortunately, Landsmen journal does not appear to record this marriage.
They travelled to London, UK in the 1870s and then on to Glasgow, Scotland where the records are good. Bernet was born in 1846 (Father Benjamen) and Rachel in 1851 (Father Cecil).
Any information including any knowledge of any brothers/sisters would be appreciated.
