So the notion that the "Herz" component in the name Naphtali-Herz represents "heart" is almost certainly mistaken; while the notion that Hirsch/Hershel = Herz/Herzl is certainly correct, as long as we understand that in this case Herz is simply another spelling for a male deer. Judith Romney Wegner
