Re: Leipzig records #germany

There are extensive records available regarding Leipzig's Jewish community.
The Holocaust Museum holds the following three books deal with Leipzig in
the Holocaust: Ellen Bertram Menschen ohne Grabstein; Adolf Diamant
Deportationsbuch der in den Jahren 1942 bis 1945 von Leipzig gewaltsam
verschickten Juden; Leipzigen Juedischen Jahr und Adressbuch 1933.
The Central Archives for the History of the Jewish People holds 18 records
for the period 1914 to 1912 (exact nature unknown), the Stiftung Neue
Synagoge in Berlin holds 23 documents relating to the period 1834 to 1931
(probably few with vital records information) and the Zentralstelle fuer
Genealogie in Leipzig has a register for the Jewish cemetery there
1815-1860. This last item was filmed by the LDS Family History Library, but
for some reason does not show up in its catalog. One should also check the
holdings of the Leo Baeck Institute in New York.
