Hello All,
My time frame for the following information is the latter half of the 19th Century
David GLASS and wife Male geb. BRAUNSPAHN lived in Schrimm, Prussian Poland,
where five children were born 1840-1845. I can account for three sons,
Samuel, Salisch (Salomon) and Leibusch (Louis). The family moved to Berlin
where I can locate a possible entry for David in the Berlin Adressbooks,
1870, Men's Tailor. There is no further listing for him. However, I am also
studying an LDS microfilm of Jewish Marriages in Berlin, No:477302, 1865 -
1871. There is an entry for the marriage of David's and Male's elder
daughter Hanne-Johanne GLASS to the master-Furrier Isaac MEYER (MEIJER), on
24 Apr.1869. Isaac was 50 years old, Hanne 28 y.o. Both were Berlin residents.

The other two names of interest are:

* Isaac Lewin/Louis/GUTTMANN, 20 y.o., Master Tailor, Berlin resident,
married Pauline GLASS, 22 y.o., Berlin resident, daughter of the former
teacher now Trader Hermann GLASS and his second wife Chave (Eva) SCHREIBER,
on 23 May 1870.

*Carl Friedrich Wilhelm SCHADE, 34 y.o., Berlin resident, and convert >from
the Evangelical Church, a Journeyman-Tailor, married Yetta Roschen (o
umlaut) GLASS, daughter of the independent Hermann GLASS and his first wife
Sore (Sorel) FEIBUSCH.

There is a strong possibility that David GLASS and Hermann GLASS were
brothers. Hermann turns up in the Berlin Adressbooks in 1872 as a Tora
Scribe, with no listings after 1882. He died in Berlin in 1883, his wife Eva
in 1882. Hermann was also in Schrimm. His first wife, Sorel, died in Schrimm.

I apologise for the lengthy post, but am hoping someone with an interest in
the names mentioned, might be able to link back to David and/or Hermann
through their daughters' marriages. David appears not to have died in
Berlin. I am trying to establish whether David and Hermann were brothers,
perhaps who were their parents and where David died. Thank you,

Bettina Glass, Yungaburra, far north Queensland, Australia.
