JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen Brody, Ukraine Yizkor Book Translation #general

Marjorie Rosenfeld <marjorierosenfeld@...>

Through the kind assistance of Yitzhak Zorne (who supplied the book), Moshe
Lubianiker (who copied and mailed me the English portions of this book),
Beverly Shulster (who translated two poems >from the book), and the
JewishGen Yizkor Book folks, a small part of Ner Tamid Yizkor LeBrody (An
Eternal Light: Brody, in Memoriam) is now online at JewishGen's Yizkor Book site:

http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/brody/brody.html

Mr. Lubianiker has just succeeded in getting permission for JewishGen to
publish a few selections >from this book by Joseph Parvari. These
selections, however, are in Hebrew and must be translated into English.
The work will require someone conversant with Hebrew and--even more
important--fluent in English. If there is any such person who also has a
personal interest in the city of Brody, Ukraine (formerly in Austrian
Galicia and, between the world wars, in Poland) and would be willing to
accomplish and donate to JewishGen a translation of any of the five Parvari
selections (1 to 5 pages in length amounting to about 10 pages in all), I
would like to hear >from you. Unpaid translators own the copyrights to
their translations. If it is necessary to raise funds for the translation
work via donations to JewishGen, then JewishGen (the employer of the
translator) will be the copyright holder of any translations done.

If you are interested in doing any of this translation work as an unpaid
volunteer, please e-mail me privately. If I don't find volunteers, I'll be
asking for donations to JewishGen in order to hire a translator. (NOTE:
the e-mail address given for me at the Web site is an old one, no longer
correct, so please use the address below.)
