My father died in New Haven, CT in 1986 (presumably a different county, but
maybe the information will be helpful anyway as it's the same
state). Some 10 years later, on a visit, I requested a copy at at some
government office in New Haven (sorry, can't remember which) and they had
it ready for me to pick up a few days later. I don't remember having to
prove I was his daughter (didn't have anything like that with me, anyway).
